about
KP Kaszubowksi
A close reader who has done the hard things — and who can help you do yours.
I'm KP Kaszubowski — a Hellenistic astrologer, parts work educator, MFA poet, indie film producer, and university writing instructor.
I work with accomplished people who are making something they haven't made before. A book. A film. A method. A business. A body of work.
What people come to me for is the combination: someone who can read a chart with traditional rigor, hold the inner life with depth-psychological care, and also has years of practical experience finishing hard things in the world.
The astrology and the parts work are not separate from the long, slow labor of making something real. They're how I learned to do it.
Solvitur ambulando. It is solved by walking.
Why I Became
a Practitioner
art and golden gate park photos, 2022
I came to this work the long way around.
I studied poetry at Eastern Washington University, where I taught research, writing, and creative writing in their graduate-level composition program. My poems started appearing in American Poetry Review, TriQuarterly, and elsewhere. My first poetry collection, somnieeee, came out into the world. I taught for years before I ever called myself an astrologer publicly — even though I'd been seriously studying astrology since I was a teenager, and Hellenistic astrology specifically since 2020 through ancient texts and eventually Adam Elenbaas's Nightlight Astrology program.
Around the same time I was finishing my MFA, I was working as a producer on documentary film. I produced My First and Last Film by Tracey Thomas — a feature documentary that premiered at the Milwaukee Film Festival in 2019 and was the subject of a Lake Effect segment on Milwaukee's NPR station. The film took five years and survived the unexpected death of its co-creator midway through production. I learned what it actually takes to finish something that wants to die on you. I learned what a witness can do when the maker has lost faith.
I got certified as a life coach, a clinical hypnotherapist, an NLP and subconscious modality coach, and an EFT practitioner — not because I wanted to add letters after my name, but because I wanted concrete tools for the moments when talking isn't enough. I trained in community organizing through the Spokane Alliance. I built and hosted Poemvember in 2022 and 2023, an online poetry community that the poet Laura Cronk has spoken about publicly as one of her favorite reading experiences of those years.
I'm now the creator of the Astro Parts Method, the co-host of Parts & Charts: The IFS and Astrology Podcast with licensed therapist Chelsea Owens, and the writer behind Astrology for Makers on Substack. I teach critical thinking, research, and writing at Lakeland University. I have a novel on submission (Pink Flash) - that was just shortlisted for 2026 Kenneth Patchen Award for the Innovative Novel!, another in revision (Separate Cars), and a medieval novel set in 12th-century Aquitaine in development (The Queen's Land). And there's chats around the Parts & Charts manuscript as well ;)
I tell you all this not because credentials matter most — they don't — but because the people who do best in my sessions tend to be people who want to know that the person across from them has also been in the long middle of a project, has finished things, and knows how deeply satisfying it is to finish something of merit.
My Approach
Hellenistic Astrology
Whole sign houses, time-lord techniques, sect, the planets read in their traditional dignities. I've studied astrology for over twenty years and Hellenistic astrology specifically since 2020 through Nightlight Astrology under Adam Elenbaas, with deep study of the work of Demetra George and Chris Brennan. The chart I read for you is the chart your ancient sky-watching ancestors would recognize.
Jungian Active Imagination
Not IFS — though the languages converge. My parts work is in the lineage of Carl Jung and James Hillman: active imagination, witness consciousness, archetypal psychology, shadow work. I treat the chart as a map of the inner figures asking to be met. If you've come through Parts & Charts, my co-host Chelsea brings the IFS clinical frame; I bring the Jungian and Hellenistic one. Same door, different rooms.
The Literary Imagination
I bring a poet's attention to a chart and a session — for what's latent, for what's in tension, for what keeps returning. I have an MFA in Creative Writing, summa cum laude, from Eastern Washington University. I read your chart the way I read a poem: closely, slowly, and with the assumption that nothing in it is decorative.
Practical Subconscious Tools
Certified life coach, clinical hypnotherapist, NLP and subconscious modality practitioner, EFT tapping practitioner. These are not the lead of my work — but they are in the room when we need them, especially in long-form book doula work where a writer is up against a stuck place that no amount of talking will move.
Community Organizing as a Frame
I trained in community organizing through the Spokane Alliance. It shaped how I think about power, agency, and what it actually takes to move something — in a chart, in a manuscript, in a life. I treat my clients as agents of their own lives, never as recipients of my interpretation.

Outside the Practice
A Little More About Me
When I'm not in session, I am making shapes with shadows with friends, in the group chats talking about the joy of being alive, on the beach with my partner Marty and dog Otto reading. Or asking someone who lives in a big city what the new perfume release smells like (as I try my best to imagine it from afar, in my quiet lakeside town.).
I regularly exclaim how much I love living in Wisconsin. I pray in the mornings by painting, chanting, and moving my body. And I usually end the day with watching a movie or eating frozen custard by the pier.
